Kaizar Götz, Associate Director – OPSMAPIA, “2022, is proving to be a seminal year for the Libyan aviation sector. National and foreign efforts for international safety and security standards, PPP investments, and political interaction are having impacts. Across Libya, airports are improving and expanding. There are new terminals at Mitiga, Benghazi, and Misurata Airports. International flights are planned at Zuwara Airport. And Sabha and Awbari Airports are undergoing maintenance and refurbishments. Meanwhile, Tunisian and Egyptian State-owned airlines have resumed flights to and from Libya, and Libyan airlines have re-entered the market, contributing to competition. Signals point towards further investment and growth in the Libyan aviation sector over the next five years that most probably exceeds any other country in the world.”
