This factsheet provides the latest statistics on trade and investment between the UK and Libya.
Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Libya was £1.5 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022, an increase of 37.3% or £399 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q3 2021. Of this £1.5 billion:
- Total UK exports to Libya amounted to £219 million in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022 (an increase of 22.3% or £40 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q3 2021);
- Total UK imports from Libya amounted to £1.3 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022 (an increase of 40.2% or £359 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q3 2021).
Libya was the UK’s 79th largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022 accounting for 0.1% of total UK trade.1
