This factsheet provides the latest statistics on trade and investment between the UK and Libya.

Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Libya was £1.4 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023, a decrease of 9.6% or £143 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q1 2022. Of this £1.4 billion:

  • Total UK exports to Libya amounted to £233 million in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023 (an increase of 25.3% or £47 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q1 2022);
  • Total UK imports from Libya amounted to £1.1 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023 (a decrease of 14.5% or £190 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q1 2022).

Libya was the UK’s 81st largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q1 2023 accounting for 0.1% of total UK trade.
