This factsheet provides the latest statistics on trade and investment between the UK and Libya. Date of release: 17 November 2023.
Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Libya was £1.7 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023, an increase of 10.5% or £163 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022. Of this £1.7 billion:
- Total UK exports to Libya amounted to £339 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 (an increase of 41.3% or £99 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022);
- Total UK imports from Libya amounted to £1.4 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 (an increase of 4.9% or £64 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022).
Libya was the UK’s 73rd largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 accounting for 0.1% of total UK trade.
