This factsheet provides the latest statistics on trade and investment between the UK and Libya. Date of release: 22 February 2024.

Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Libya was £1.7 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2023, an increase of 10.7% or £164 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022. Of this £1.7 billion:

  • Total UK exports to Libya amounted to £410 million in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2023 (an increase of 48.0% or £133 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022);
  • Total UK imports from Libya amounted to £1.3 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2023 (an increase of 2.5% or £31 million in current prices, compared to the four quarters to the end of Q3 2022).

    Libya was the UK’s 74th largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2023 accounting for 0.1% of total UK trade.1
